Beauty Pie's LED mask was "clinically proven to reduce wrinkles in 4 weeks" until the ad watchdog pulled the claim. How many people were in the study?
Twenty-eight. No control group, no peer review.
That's what "clinically proven" meant on the box. Twenty-eight people, nobody given a fake mask to compare against, nothing published for anyone else to check. The ASA pulled the claim in June, and the same list of rulings has caught Eucerin, L'Oréal and 111SKIN.
It's why we read the study before we read the box. This week's issue ranks the LED masks that are worth the money, and the test for each is the same: who measured it, how many people, and did anyone get a fake mask. The one everyone's buying doesn't pass it.
